The route will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays. The outbound flight departs from Gimhae International Airport at 18:55 and arrives at Almaty International Airport at 22:40 local time. The return flight departs from Almaty at 23:40 local time and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 09:35 the following day.
The Busan-Almaty route is Eastar Jet's second route to Central Asia, following the Incheon-Almaty route launched in April last year. It is also the airline's tenth route departing from Busan, after destinations such as Taipei, Osaka, and Chiang Mai.
Eastar Jet plans to continue expanding its routes departing from Gimhae International Airport to improve travel convenience for local residents and broaden their options by discovering new travel destinations.
The company stated that Almaty is a market with significant growth potential as a tourist destination, in addition to demand from foreign workers and ethnic Koreans. With its beautiful natural scenery centered around the Tian Shan Mountains, Almaty is also known as the "Alps of Asia."
An Eastar Jet representative said, "Although the Busan-Almaty route is a challenging new route for the airline, we decided to launch it to meet the diverse needs of local residents. We will do our best to ensure the route is established successfully."
