Three Live Broadcasts on YouTube Scheduled for January 12 and 14
Following the presidential work report, live broadcasts of work reports from affiliated agencies under each central ministry are now being conducted. There are signs that this approach is spreading to local governments as well.
The city of Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, announced on January 9 that it will broadcast its upcoming departmental major work report meetings, scheduled for January 12 and 14, live through the city's official YouTube channel.
The major work report meeting is an event to review and check the city's operational direction and implementation plans for the year. It serves as a forum to share the city's key projects for the year and the detailed implementation plans of each department.
This report meeting will be attended by the mayor, the deputy mayor, and the heads of bureaus and departments, who will present new projects and major pending issues and explain the direction of policy implementation.
Through the report meeting, the city plans to engage in in-depth discussions on major municipal directions such as urban growth, stabilization of citizens' livelihoods, strengthening welfare, and creating a safe city, as well as strategies for linking with the central government's national policy tasks.
The meetings will be broadcast three times in total: at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on January 12, and at 10 a.m. on January 14. On the morning of January 12, reports will be presented by the Safety, Construction, and Transportation Bureau; New Town Development Bureau; Urban Housing Bureau; and the Eco-friendly Business Headquarters. In the afternoon, the Social Welfare Bureau, Public Health Center, Autonomous Administration Bureau, and affiliated organizations will report. On the morning of January 14, the Economic and Cultural Bureau, Lifelong Learning Business Headquarters, departments directly under the mayor and deputy mayor, and the Planning and Coordination Office will present their reports.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "Transparency in revealing the direction, process, and outcomes of city administration to citizens is the starting point of open governance," adding, "We will responsibly ensure that major policies lead to tangible changes in citizens' daily lives on the ground."
Previously, since the end of September last year, the city has been broadcasting its 'Weekly Policy Meeting,' held every Monday, live on YouTube.
