Dialogue with Residents Continues Until the 21st, Starting from Geochang-eup
Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province began its town and township visits on January 7, starting with Geochang-eup, and will continue these visits to all towns and townships until January 21.
This series of visits has been organized to mark the New Year by sharing the direction of county administration and directly listening to a wide range of opinions and suggestions from residents. County Mayor Goo Inmo plans to visit each town and township to explain the county’s major achievements and future plans, and to engage in discussions with residents about local issues.
Jung Miyoung, Director of Planning and Budget, reported on the major achievements for 2025 and the key directions for county administration in 2026, sharing core accomplishments and plans such as the creation of the Geochang Medical Welfare Town and the establishment of a zero childcare burden environment through 'Geochang 012 Care'; the designation of 2026 as the 'Year of Visiting Geochang' with the goal of attracting 10 million visitors; and the development of a smart agriculture promotion district and an advanced general industrial complex to secure the county’s food sources for the next 50 years. In addition, she provided a detailed explanation of ten major project initiatives for a greater leap forward for Geochang, which was met with enthusiastic responses from attendees.
In particular, the visit to Geochang-eup on January 7 was attended by National Assemblyman Shin Sungbeom, Lee Jaewoon, Chairman of the Geochang County Council, and other county council members, adding significance to the event. The attendees exchanged greetings with residents and reaffirmed their commitment to cooperation for resolving local issues and advancing the development of Geochang County.
Mayor Goo Inmo stated, "Thanks to the great interest and support of our residents, we have been able to successfully implement projects desired by the community, such as being selected as a youth-friendly, senior-friendly, and women-friendly city, as well as the reconstruction of Geochang No. 1 Bridge and the creation of the premium Wicheoncheon Stream." He added, "We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that policies and projects reflecting the wishes of our residents lead to tangible results."
Meanwhile, Geochang County plans to carefully review the opinions and suggestions collected during these visits and actively incorporate them into future county administration.
