[Weather] Severe Cold Eases from Midday, Milder Temperatures... Fire Caution Due to Dry Conditions Yonhap News Agency

The morning low is forecast to range from -11 to -2 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius. In the morning, temperatures will be similar to or slightly lower than the seasonal average (morning low of -12 to 0 degrees Celsius). Strong winds will make it feel even colder. However, daytime temperatures are expected to be slightly higher than average (0 to 9 degrees Celsius), with Seoul at 6 degrees, Daegu at 7 degrees, and Gangneung at 8 degrees, making it feel mild.

The air will be very dry and winds strong in Seoul, some inland areas of Gyeonggi Province, the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, eastern Jeollanam-do, and the Gyeongsang region, increasing the risk of small sparks developing into large fires. Caution is advised to prevent fires. The central region will be mostly cloudy, while the southern region and Jeju Island will start out clear but gradually become cloudy from the afternoon. In the northeastern part of Gyeonggi Province and the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, there may be less than 0.1 mm of rain or less than 0.1 cm of snow in the late afternoon.

Waves in the sea are expected to reach 0.5 to 2.5 meters off the east and west coasts, and 0.5 to 1.5 meters off the south coast. In the far offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to range from 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
