Kernelspace Launches Excel AI "Greedy"... Achieves 10% Paid Conversion Rate in One Month

Kernelspace, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup, announced on January 8 that it officially launched its Excel AI tool, "Greedy," last month. The tool was developed to enhance spreadsheet work efficiency for accounting and finance professionals.

Kernelspace was founded last year by CEO Jung Minkyu, who previously led AI teams at Naver and Channel Corporation, and CBO (Chief Business Officer) Park Sangjung, a certified accountant who served as Head of Finance at Samjong KPMG and Channel Corporation. They established the AI startup together with experts from Channel Corporation and Coupang.

Greedy is a service that enables users to handle traditionally manual Excel tasks-such as entering complex formulas, repetitive data cleansing, and PDF data conversion-through conversational interactions with generative AI. While traditional ERP or expense management solutions focus on "storing" data, Greedy emphasizes "processing" stored data for actual closing and reporting purposes, thereby achieving up to 80% improvement in work efficiency for professionals.

The most distinctive feature of Greedy is its "persistent workflow." When users interact with the AI in their usual work style, Greedy interprets these instructions and instantly generates automation code. This process is similar to the "Vibe Coding" trend gaining attention among developers, but instead of writing code, users design their Excel tasks using natural language. Users can save these processes as "workflows" and later repeat the same tasks with a single click by simply swapping out the file. It's like having a dedicated developer building up your work assets right beside you.

Greedy is steadily attracting interest among accounting and finance professionals as the annual performance season approaches. An active accountant currently using Greedy shared, "It used to take hours each month to organize raw data from various clients into ledgers or internal management documents, but after adopting Greedy, I complete the work in a single conversation by reusing preset workflows." He added, "Now, I spend more time on client consulting and review work rather than simple data organization."

Corporate finance teams are also seeing significant benefits from Greedy. By automating the process of reconciling data from ERP systems, credit card companies, and banks-each with different formats-to generate vouchers and reports, finance teams can now focus on their core responsibilities, such as analyzing unusual transactions and supporting strategic decision-making.

Thanks to these practical, hands-on features, Greedy has shown clear results right after its launch. Approximately 240 people registered for a hands-on training session held in December, and about 10% of all users have converted to paid subscriptions. Greedy is being recognized as an essential tool in the workplace, moving beyond simple trials.

Currently, Greedy is in strategic partnership discussions with major domestic and international expense management SaaS companies, and is negotiating B2B implementations with firms that provide financial outsourcing and accounting services. To commemorate its official launch, Greedy is running a promotion that offers double credits for use within the Greedy program to both new and existing paid subscribers.

Jung Minkyu, CEO of Kernelspace, stated, "Kernelspace aims to develop products that enhance the AI capabilities of individual professionals. Greedy is designed to help users break free from repetitive tasks and focus on more important decisions, thereby boosting both their productivity and market value in the AI era."
