Tour of 13 Towns and Townships from January 12 to 21
Listening to Residents' Long-Standing Project Needs and Key Issues
On January 8, Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that it will hold the event "2026 A New Beginning: Dialogue with Residents" from January 12 to 21, 2026, to mark the start of the Year of Byeongo (Byeongo Year).
This dialogue with residents is being organized under the slogan "Listening to the Hearts of Residents." The county governor will personally visit all 13 towns and townships to hear directly from residents in the field and to observe various aspects of their daily lives, putting into practice a "visiting, service-oriented administration."
In particular, this tour will go beyond simply listening to civil complaints. The county plans to share the main directions for county administration in 2026 and broadly gather suggestions focusing on long-standing local projects and key issues specific to each town and township.
Based on this input, the county will review the feasibility and priorities of each project and actively reflect them in county administration.
The events will be held in the Eoulrim Center auditorium for Hwasun-eup, and in the welfare centers for the other townships. Each day, two towns or townships will be visited, with sessions held in the morning (10 a.m.) and afternoon (2 p.m.). The program will proceed in the following order: explanation of county administration direction, reporting on township administration (explanation of key projects), and dialogue with residents (suggestions and Q&A).
The tour schedule for each town and township (morning/afternoon) is as follows: January 12 - Neungju-myeon and Iyang-myeon; January 13 - Dogok-myeon and Doam-myeon; January 14 - Baekam-myeon and Iseo-myeon; January 16 - Dongbok-myeon and Hancheon-myeon; January 19 - Dong-myeon and Sapyeong-myeon; January 20 - Chunnyang-myeon and Cheongpung-myeon; January 21 - Hwasun-eup (afternoon only).
Hwasun County Governor Koo Bokgyu stated, "This dialogue with residents is a meaningful opportunity to share a vision for Hwasun's new leap forward in 2026 and to seek ways to develop the region together with residents. We will avoid formal procedures and actively reflect residents' voices in county administration through open and candid communication."
Meanwhile, Hwasun County plans to promptly follow up on suggestions raised at the site by having the relevant departments review them and informing the petitioners of the action plan within three days.
