Effectiveness of Comprehensive Employment Support System...
Employment Rate Rises for Three Consecutive Years

National Mokpo University achieved an employment rate of 67.5%, ranking first among all national universities in Korea, according to the results of the "2024 Higher Education Institution Graduate Employment Statistics Survey" announced by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Educational Development Institute. In addition, the university maintained its stable employment performance by securing the top employment rate in the Honam and Jeju regions for three consecutive years.

According to Mokpo University on January 8, the university's employment rate has shown a steady upward trend over the past three years. Mokpo University ranked fourth among national universities in 2022, second in 2023, and finally reached first place nationwide in 2024.

The university attributes this achievement to the operation of a comprehensive employment support system centered on the University Job Plus Center and the expansion of customized employment support programs tailored to regional and industrial demands.

Mokpo University has implemented a range of initiatives to support students in planning their careers and preparing for employment by academic year, including customized employment services for enrolled students, providing career and employment roadmaps, major exploration professor mentoring, mentoring by executives and employees of local industries, and establishing a step-by-step customized counseling system. In addition, the university continues to offer extracurricular programs and field-oriented internships to strengthen practical skills.

In particular, the university is credited with driving a steady increase in employment rates by consistently providing a performance-based employment support system tailored to each student's career stage and competency level.

Furthermore, since 2020, Mokpo University has been selected for the Jeonnam Province Youth Overseas Employment Support Project for six consecutive years, with approximately 20 trainees successfully finding overseas employment each year, further solidifying its position as a university that fosters global talent.

President Song Hacheol stated, "Achieving the highest employment rate among national universities nationwide and maintaining the top spot in the Honam and Jeju regions for three consecutive years are valuable results produced by our student-centered employment support policies. Moving forward, we will further strengthen our employment support ecosystem to ensure students' stable entry into society and continuous growth, through close cooperation with local communities and industries."
