Donated 2 Million Won to Hometown Gwangyang Again This Year
Gwangyang City, South Jeolla Province, announced that Attorney Yeonsu Kim, who is originally from Gwangyang, has donated 2 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Program for 2026, marking his participation for four consecutive years since the program was launched.
Attorney Yeonsu Kim, a native of Kumho-dong, previously served as the managing partner at Myungjae Law Firm. He is currently a specialist in criminal law and damages at Siwoo Law Firm, where he provides legal counsel to corporations and handles litigation work.
Additionally, he runs the YouTube channel "Namuneulbyun" (Sloth Lawyer), where he continues to improve public access to legal information by delivering legal knowledge to citizens in an easy and approachable manner.
Attorney Kim has participated in the Hometown Love Donation Program every year since its first year in 2023. This year, he increased his donation to 2 million won, once again demonstrating his special affection for his hometown.
Attorney Yeonsu Kim stated, "My hometown Gwangyang has always been the root and source of strength in my heart," adding, "I am grateful to contribute to the development of my hometown through the Hometown Love Donation Program."
A Gwangyang City official commented, "We deeply appreciate Attorney Yeonsu Kim for consistently supporting his hometown for four consecutive years," and added, "We hope this warm act of sharing will have a positive influence and encourage wider participation in the Hometown Love Donation Program."
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won annually to local governments other than their own place of residence. Donations up to 100,000 won are fully tax-deductible, with donations between 100,000 and 200,000 won eligible for a 44% deduction, and amounts exceeding 200,000 won eligible for a 16.5% deduction. Donors may also select local specialty products or other gifts worth up to 30% of their donation amount.
