Park Narae and Ipjjalhetnim's "Nabiyak" Controversy Addressed
"Chemically Almost Identical to Methamphetamine and Amphetamine"
"Not an Exaggeration to Call It a Narcotic... Extremely Difficult to Quit"
Broadcaster Park Narae is currently facing allegations that she received illegal medical treatment from a so-called "Injection Aunt" and was prescribed the narcotic appetite suppressant "Nabiyak." In the midst of these allegations, a practicing physician has publicly warned about the dangers of this drug. Sharing his own experience with Nabiyak, he stated, "The effects are definite, but it was like a narcotic, making it extremely difficult to quit."

Recently, a video titled "They said they lost weight through exercise... but as a doctor, I also tried the famous YouTuber's diet pill" was uploaded to the YouTube channel "Neighborhood Doctor Lee Sangwook."
In the video, internal medicine specialist Lee Sangwook commented, "Because of Park Narae, the impact among celebrities has grown significantly. Nabiyak has become a hot topic, and people are talking about it a lot." He continued, "It's called 'Nabiyak' because it's shaped like a butterfly, but this is a huge problem."
"Lost 20kg, the effects are definite but..."
He explained, "I used to weigh over 90kg. A baby elephant weighs about 100kg, and I realized I had to do something, so I got a prescription for Nabiyak and took it. I lost 20kg with it. The effect is very strong."
However, Dr. Lee stated, "This is the reason I stopped providing weight loss consultations." He compared taking Nabiyak to facing a burglar, saying, "When you’re startled, your heart races. In that situation, would you want to eat? You lose your appetite. You break out in a cold sweat and can't sleep. These symptoms appear exactly the same when you take Nabiyak."
He further explained, "The main effect of Nabiyak is that it acts on the central nervous system, increasing norepinephrine and speeding up your metabolism. It helps burn fat and suppresses appetite, so the weight loss effect is significant."

"It's like a narcotic, very difficult to quit... Anxiety and tolerance develop during withdrawal"
Dr. Lee cited "addictiveness" as the main side effect of Nabiyak. He said, "Nabiyak is hard to quit. It's just like a narcotic. Phentermine is almost chemically identical to methamphetamine and amphetamine. It’s no exaggeration to call it a narcotic. When you stop, you feel anxious, and you develop a tolerance."
He added, "Even though I only took Nabiyak for about six weeks, it was extremely difficult to stop. While taking it, I could sleep just two to three hours and still feel alert, but as soon as I quit, I became extremely fatigued. Even sleeping like a corpse didn’t help. It took three to four weeks for my body to return to normal."

Park Narae has become embroiled in controversy after her former manager accused her of power abuse, and allegations surfaced that she received injections from an unlicensed "Injection Aunt" outside of a medical facility and obtained medication without a prescription. Mukbang YouTuber Ipjjalhetnim is also reported to have received diet pills from the same "Injection Aunt." As a result, complaints have been filed against both Park Narae and Ipjjalhetnim for violating the Medical Service Act and the Narcotics Control Act. The Gangnam Police Station and Mapo Police Station have assigned the case and launched investigations.
