Hope Sharing Campaign for Public Officials and Residents
Damyang County in Jeollanam-do will hold a two-day “Sharing Life, Blood Donation of Love” campaign on January 14 and 16 to support medical sites struggling with blood supply shortages during the winter season.
According to Damyang County on January 8, this group blood donation event will target public officials and residents. It has been organized in cooperation with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross to help ensure a stable blood supply.
On the first day of the campaign, January 14, mobile blood donation vehicles will operate from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Damyang County Office parking lot and the Health Center riverside parking lot. The mobile vehicles will visit Damyang Police Station in the morning and Daedeok Health Branch in the afternoon to encourage blood donation participation. The campaign will continue on January 16 at the Hyerim General Welfare Center.
Blood donors will receive a blood donation certificate, a Damyang Love Gift Certificate worth 10,000 won, and various souvenirs from the Korean Red Cross. Anyone wishing to participate must bring a valid ID, such as a resident registration card.
Damyang County holds group blood donation events four times a year to stabilize the blood supply and also runs the “Hope Sharing Practice Campaign,” in which donated blood certificates are delivered to patients in need of transfusions.
A Damyang County official stated, “During winter, fewer people participate in blood donation, which can easily disrupt the blood supply. We sincerely ask for the active participation of public officials and residents in this noble act of saving precious lives.”
