The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced on January 8 that it presented its vision for an "Artificial Intelligence (AI) City" at CES 2026, the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, currently being held in Las Vegas, USA.
The authority operated a 139-square-meter "Incheon-IFEZ (Incheon Free Economic Zone) Exhibition Hall" in the AI Zone at the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, showcasing the direction of urban innovation.
The exhibition hall was organized into three sections: "Living Zone" (AI Smart Living Zone) for enhancing citizen life services, "Working Zone" (AI Innovation Hub Zone) for industrial innovation, and "Play Zone" (AI Creative City Zone) for content and experience creation. At this venue, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority presented AI-based urban services and innovative models applied across city life, industry, and culture, outlining a vision for a sustainable urban future.
The authority also hosted the "Global AI City Forum," which brought together global urban and industry experts to share next-generation AI city strategies and directions for cooperation. In particular, through an exchange session with Fairfax County, Virginia, USA, they discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas such as building innovation ecosystems, supporting startups, and technology demonstration.
In addition to operating the exhibition hall, the authority focused on programs aimed at global networking and achieving tangible cooperation outcomes. On January 7, it hosted "CES 2026 Incheon Night," facilitating partnership discussions and networking between Incheon companies and overseas firms. On January 8, it held a "Focused Business Day" for visiting delegations, arranging one-on-one business meetings and on-site business matching with buyers and investors.
Yoo Jeongbok, Mayor of Incheon, stated, "CES 2026 is an important stage to showcase to the world Incheon's vision of evolving from a future growth city that has led change and innovation in Korea for the past 20 years to an AI city," adding, "We will continue to do our utmost to establish Incheon as a leading global AI city."
