Targeting Seven Universities in Daegu and Gyeongbuk
A Total of 160 Students to Be Selected
Yeongcheon City (Mayor Choi Kimoon) will be recruiting residents for the 2026 academic year Local Student Dormitory from January 12 to January 21.
The number of available spots is as follows: 30 for Kyungpook National University, 50 for Yeungnam University, 30 for Daegu University, 20 for Keimyung University, 10 for Daegu Catholic University, 10 for Kyungil University, and 10 for Daekyeung University, totaling 160 students. The residency period is one year.
As of the announcement date (January 7, 2026), both the student and their guardian must have been registered residents of Yeongcheon City for at least one year. Applicants will be evaluated based on graduation from local elementary, middle, or high schools (50 points), household financial status (30 points), and academic performance (20 points).
The final list of recommended residents will be notified to each university in early February.
Applications can be submitted in person at the Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Centers or at the Population and Education Division on the 3rd floor of the main building of Yeongcheon City Hall. Online applications are also available through the Yeongcheon Scholarship Foundation website.
