Yeongcheon City Launches 'Child Safety 365' 24-Hour Childcare System... "Zero Gaps in Parenting"

Comprehensive Services Covering Nighttime, Weekends, and Emergencies
Tailored Care for All Ages and Needs, from Infants to Elementary Students

Yeongcheon City is set to fully implement a '24-Hour Childcare System' that can respond to nighttime, weekends, and emergency situations, aiming to dramatically reduce the childcare burden on parents and completely eliminate gaps in care.

On January 8, Yeongcheon City announced that it had established a continuous care system encompassing infants through lower elementary grades under the slogan 'Child Safety 365: 24-Hour Care.'

The core of this policy is to significantly supplement the temporal and target limitations of existing care services and to create a safety net where the entire community raises children together.

The most notable change is the 'K-Bodeum 6000' program for infants and toddlers.

Yeongcheon City has designated seven centers as operating facilities, including the 5th Together Care Center, Imgobodum Sharing Center, Municipal Munoe Central, Misojium, Champit, Geumho, and Areum Daycare Centers.

These facilities operate from 7:30 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.

With operations running 365 days a year, these centers are expected to serve as a true "parenting sanctuary" for not only dual-income families but also parents who work night shifts or single-parent households in need of urgent care.

Support for elementary school students will also be significantly strengthened.

Three local child centers-Keunsarang, Yasa, and Geumho Yunseong-have extended their operating hours to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays.

Even children aged 6 to 12 who are not existing users can access emergency care, and a shuttle bus service is provided to ensure safe transportation home.

Additionally, to prevent care gaps during school vacations, 'Elementary School Vacation Care Centers' will be operated for students in grades 1 to 3.

This service, which began on January 5 this year at Lira and Cheongtong Hwarang Daycare Centers, supports emotional care by combining learning and play from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays.

Through this system, Yeongcheon City aims to provide parents with stable economic activity and improved quality of life, while guaranteeing children a safe and uninterrupted growth environment.

Choi Kimoon, Mayor of Yeongcheon City, emphasized, "Raising children is now a shared responsibility of the community, not just individuals. We will continue to expand comprehensive care policies so that not a single child is left behind, and make Yeongcheon the best city for raising children."
