Han Jeong-ae, Chair of the Policy Committee of the Democratic Party, stated at the policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly on January 8, "We apologize to the people, but refusing the second comprehensive special prosecutor bill and failing to process livelihood bills is both deceptive and an insult to the public," adding, "The Democratic Party will convene an extraordinary session of the National Assembly in January to address the backlog of bills."

The party expressed its determination to accelerate the handling of pending issues once the leadership is reorganized following the by-elections for three Supreme Council members and the floor leader on January 11. The Democratic Party currently faces major issues such as the second comprehensive special prosecutor bill, a special prosecutor response regarding the Unification Church, livelihood legislation, a parliamentary investigation into Coupang, constitutional amendment discussions, and preparations for local elections.

Moon Jin-seok, Acting Floor Leader, stated, "The remaining tasks of ending insurrection, restoring livelihoods, and achieving major social reforms will be carried over to the next leadership." Park Sang-hyuk, Deputy Floor Leader for Communication, added, "I believe the new floor leadership, which will begin next week, will steadfastly lead these tasks."

The candidates for the new floor leader also emphasized the need for swift action on pending issues. Assemblyman Jin Sung-joon of the Democratic Party appeared on Kim Eo-jun's News Factory and said, "If I become floor leader, I will immediately consult and strive to reach an agreement with the opposition on the second comprehensive special prosecutor bill. However, if the opposition does not cooperate, we must proceed quickly in accordance with the National Assembly Act to resolve the political issues." Assemblyman Park Jung of the Democratic Party also stated, "The new leadership must stabilize the party, end the insurrection, support President Lee Jae-myung's five major economic leaps, and secure victory in the local elections."
