Operation Extended Until 2029
Possible Extension Up to 10 Years Upon Meeting Conditions
BMW Group Korea announced on January 8 that it has signed a new operation agreement with Incheon International Airport Corporation for the BMW Driving Center on Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
Through the new operator selection process conducted by Incheon International Airport Corporation, BMW Group Korea has secured an extension to operate the BMW Driving Center on Yeongjongdo, Incheon. The lease period is set for four years, from January 2026 to December 2029, and can be extended up to a maximum of ten years if certain conditions are met.
Opened in July 2014, the BMW Driving Center is a comprehensive automotive cultural complex that combines a track and customer experience facilities in one location. It is the first of its kind in Asia and the third globally, following Germany and the United States. The initial investment was 77 billion won, with additional investments bringing the total to 95 billion won. The entire site covers 305,359 square meters, equivalent to about 43 soccer fields.
The center features a driving track that meets the regulations of the F?d?ration Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), a vehicle exhibition hall, food and beverage facilities, and an eco-friendly sports park. Based on these amenities, it offers a variety of customer experience programs. Through specialized driving programs and systematic training by professional instructors, visitors can learn driving skills in a safe environment and experience the "joy of driving" that BMW pursues.
As of December last year, the cumulative number of visitors to the BMW Driving Center reached approximately 1.8 million, with more than 280,000 customers participating in driving programs. A total of 1,533 vehicles have been used in these programs, and the cumulative driving distance amounts to 9,008,262 kilometers, which is equivalent to circling the Earth about 225 times.
A BMW Group Korea representative stated, "The BMW Driving Center will continue to strengthen its role as a key hub for the advancement of automotive culture in Korea and for the innovation of customer brand experiences."
