Specialized services based on Upstage's proprietary AI model, 'Solar Open,' will also be further expanded. Channel Corporation, which operates the business messenger 'Channel Talk,' is developing a customer service (CS) AI agent, while fintech company Finda is building specialized services such as personalized financial product comparison and recommendation. The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) will support research on specialized agents for the public sector and AI transformation (AX).
This consortium expansion was carried out to elevate core model research capabilities to a global level ahead of the project's second phase. It is also interpreted as a strategic move to expand AI transformation (AX) services across various industries.
Upstage aims to further enhance the technical completeness and performance of 'Solar Open' through the expanded consortium, with the goal of introducing a national-level frontier model.
Kim Sunghun, CEO of Upstage, stated, "With research collaborations involving global scholars from institutions such as Stanford and New York University, and the participation of partners representing each industry, the development of proprietary AI models and the spread of AX will accelerate. We will do our utmost to achieve self-reliance in AI technology and to vitalize the AI ecosystem in Korea."
