CGV to Hold Special Retrospective Honoring the First Anniversary of the Late David Lynch

On January 8, CGV announced that it will hold a special screening event titled "David Lynch Effect" to commemorate the first anniversary of the late director David Lynch. From January 14 to 27, the two-week program will shed light on the cinematic world of Lynch.

Seven films will be screened. The lineup includes his feature debut "Eraserhead" (1977), the Cannes Film Festival Best Director winner "Mulholland Drive" (2001), and his final feature "Inland Empire" (2006), which won the National Society of Film Critics Award for Experimental Film.

One of his most renowned works, "The Elephant Man" (1980), will be screened for the first time in multiplex theaters in a 4K digital remastered version. The lineup also features the prequel film to the popular TV series "Twin Peaks" (1992), "Lost Highway" (1997) with a soundtrack featuring Marilyn Manson, and the road movie based on a true story, "The Straight Story" (1999).

Jeon Junghyun, Head of Content Operations at CGV, said, "This is an opportunity to explore the unique world of director Lynch, who possesses an unparalleled sense of reality and surrealism, starting from his early works. I hope audiences can fully immerse themselves in the so-called 'Lynchian' experience in theaters."

CGV will also host an event where A3 posters of each film will be given to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets and further details are available on the CGV mobile app and website.
