Jeon Hangil Criticizes Jang Donghyuk's Apology for Martial Law
"Abandoned Principles, Swayed by Demands from Those Around Him"
"If We Abandon Jang Donghyuk, the Conservative Right Will Collapse... Conditional Support"
Jeon Hangil, a former Korean history instructor and current YouTuber, criticized Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, saying, "He abandoned his principles because people around him demanded he cut ties with the 'Yoon Again' faction and the far-right." On the 7th, through his YouTube channel 'Jeon Hangil News,' Jeon stated, "It is true that Jang is going through a tough time recently, but he was too easily swayed. That is a very bad thing, and I absolutely cannot support him."

Jeon added, "Although there was no mention of former President Yoon Sukyeol, this apology was inappropriate, and the timing is terrible," arguing, "The judges were about to deliver a not-guilty verdict, but if this side (the conservatives) admits the emergency martial law was wrong, it will become difficult for the judges to acquit." He continued, "People are saying they are disappointed in Jang, that he should be abandoned, or that they should leave the party. But who would benefit the most from this? If Jang is abandoned, Han Donghoon will appear as if he has been waiting for this moment," emphasizing, "If we abandon Jang Donghyuk, the conservative right will be decimated."
He then stated that he would conditionally support Jang. His demands include: fighting together and speaking out regarding suspicions of election fraud, making a public statement of support for former President Yoon, expelling all pro-Han (pro-Han Donghoon) factions, and expelling former leader Han from the party over the controversy on the party member bulletin board.
He said, "The moment you abandon former President Yoon, both I and many supporters will immediately abandon Jang," and added, "No matter how sincere and genuine Jang's apology is, left-wing media, the Democratic Party, and President Lee Jaemyung will not accept it that way. By doing so, aren't you just being used and mocked by the left?"

On the same day, Jeon posted a message on his social media protesting Jang's apology, but later deleted it. After sharing an article about Jang, he commented, "What is this? Representative Jang? Are you encouraging the judges to sentence (former President Yoon) to life imprisonment or death right before the first trial verdict?" He continued, "The emergency martial law, which was a desperate measure to appeal to the public and protect liberal democracy from anti-state forces, has now revealed their rebellion plot and fraudulent impeachment, proving that 'Yoon Again' and former President Yoon were right for all to see. So why apologize for martial law at this point?"
Earlier that day, Jang stated regarding the December 3 emergency martial law, "It was an inappropriate and wrong measure for the situation," and added, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility and deeply apologize to the people." He also said, "Let us leave past events to the fair judgment of the judiciary and the evaluation of history, cross the river of martial law and impeachment, and move toward the future. From now on, I will start anew from the perspective of the people, break away from the past, and be among the people." He continued, "To win elections, I will pursue broad political alliances. If anyone agrees with the values of liberal democracy and shares the will to stop the dictatorship of the Lee Jaemyung administration, I will open my heart and join forces with anyone."
