Saeil Centers Newly Selected for Career Disconnection Prevention Support Project Open Call
Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on January 7 that the Gangwon Regional Saeil Center and the Wonju Saeil Center have been selected in the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s open call for the “New Operation Center Designation for Career Disconnection Prevention Support Project,” which aims to support women in maintaining their careers and ensuring employment stability.
With this selection, the existing career disconnection prevention support project, previously operated by the Gangwon Regional Saeil Center, Chuncheon Saeil Center, and Gangneung Saeil Center, will be expanded to the Wonju area. The functions of the Gangwon Regional Saeil Center will also be strengthened, establishing a more comprehensive support system that covers the entire province.
The Gangwon Regional Saeil Center, operated by the Gangwon Provincial Economic Promotion Agency, will be reorganized from a “regional general” center to a “regional prevention team,” significantly enhancing its career disconnection prevention support capabilities. As a result, the scope of the project will be expanded, and the number of dedicated staff will increase from one to three.
Going forward, the Gangwon Regional Saeil Center will focus on: ▲ developing and operating programs to support prevention projects at local Saeil Centers within the province ▲ linking policies based on corporate demand surveys ▲ establishing support systems to improve workplace culture ▲ strengthening cooperation networks with related organizations ▲ and promoting awareness and dissemination of career disconnection prevention.
Additionally, the Wonju Saeil Center has been newly designated as an operating institution for the career disconnection prevention support project through this open call, and will actively implement prevention-focused services for employed women and companies. This includes ▲ grievance and labor counseling for employed women and companies ▲ customized consulting ▲ and operating workshops, all aimed at supporting women in maintaining their careers and helping companies retain female employees.
Park Songrim, Director of Welfare and Health at Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, “We expect that the selection in this open call will further expand the support system for women’s employment. We will work to prevent career disconnection among women in advance and strengthen tailored support suited to local conditions, thereby contributing to the creation of a sustainable employment environment for women.”
