Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County: "Will Lead the Development of Gangsang as a City of Sports and Healing"

Yangpyeong County Holds "Communication Forum with Gangsang-myeon Residents"

Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Yang Jinseon) visited Gangsang-myeon on the 7th as the second schedule of the '2026 Communication Festival with County Residents' and held a communication forum with local residents.

The event, held in the badminton court of the Gangsang Multipurpose Gymnasium on the morning of the same day, was attended by Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, Shin Dongho, Head of Gangsang-myeon, relevant department heads, heads of local institutions and organizations, and about 100 residents of Gangsang-myeon. Participants looked back on the major achievements in Gangsang-myeon over the past year and shared the direction for county administration in 2026 as well as development plans for Gangsang-myeon.


Governor Yang Jinseon communicated with residents by outlining last year's key achievements in Gangsang-myeon, including: operation of county resident safety insurance and disaster response headquarters; securing funds for installing suicide prevention safety fences on Yanggeun and Gangsang Bridges; implementing bicycle education at local elementary schools; and securing funds for constructing the new Gangsang-myeon office building and relocating the recycling sorting facility.


He then presented the main plans for Gangsang-myeon in 2026, such as: promoting city gas supply to Gangsang and Gangha areas; expanding sewerage infrastructure throughout the county; extending water supply to areas vulnerable to water shortages; fostering the leisure sports industry; and constructing the new Gangsang-myeon office building, explaining the mid- to long-term development direction.


During the dialogue session with residents, practical suggestions were raised, including: village-led road expansion and sidewalk installation; development of a signature festival for Gangsang; renovation of Gangsang Sports Park; and expansion of water and sewage supply. The heads of relevant departments and divisions present responded directly on site, continuing active communication.

Governor Yang Jinseon said, "It was meaningful to hear the vivid voices of residents firsthand in Gangsang, a city of sports and healing," and added, "We will faithfully reflect the suggestions made today in county administration and do our utmost to further develop Gangsang-myeon into an even better place to live."
