This training was organized to help workers identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace in advance and to enhance their ability to respond appropriately in the event of an accident. The program focused on raising safety awareness so that workers can prevent industrial accidents themselves.
The training covered topics closely related to daily work, such as industrial safety and accident prevention, industrial health, and occupational disease prevention. It was conducted as a practical, hands-on program rather than a theory-based one. Specific topics included the status of industrial accidents in 2025, Yeoncheon County's management policies and major accident cases, the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance system. In addition, to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, participants practiced pre-work stretching during the training and experienced proper stretching techniques firsthand.
Furthermore, winter-specific safety management training was provided, focusing on the "Five Basic Rules for Cold Wave Safety," including hypothermia prevention, wearing cold-weather protective gear, and checking health status before work. The "Four Prohibition Campaign" was also conducted to raise workers' awareness, emphasizing the prohibition of disabling safety devices, working without protective equipment, and maintaining machines while in operation-essential rules that must be followed on site. In addition, practical information was provided to workers, such as how to apply for and the procedures involved in filing for industrial accident compensation in the event of a workplace injury.
A Yeoncheon County official stated, "Worker safety is more important than anything else during the winter," and added, "We will continue to provide effective safety training so that newly hired workers can strictly adhere to safety rules on site."
