Yangju City Ranks First in Local Government Fund Management Evaluation... Secures 15 Million Won Incentive

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has been ranked first in its municipal evaluation group (City-2) in the "2024 Fiscal Year Local Government Fund Management Performance Analysis" organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

This evaluation was based on a quantitative assessment conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, covering 243 local governments nationwide and focusing on two areas-efficiency and soundness of fund management-across 11 indicators. With this award, Yangju City has achieved first place for the fifth consecutive year.

The city has focused on improving its fund management system by preventing the use of funds for purposes other than their original intent and reducing reliance on other accounts. As a result of these efforts, Yangju City secured a special grant of 15 million won as a fiscal incentive in this evaluation.

Yangju City plans to use the incentive to expand citizen convenience facilities and invest in projects directly related to improving the livelihoods of residents and revitalizing the local economy.

An official from Yangju City stated, "It is meaningful that the efforts of all departments to work together and focus on efficient fiscal management have led to such a positive outcome. We will thoroughly review the analysis results and continue to strengthen the soundness of fund management and provide transparent administrative services through institutional improvements in the future."
