Seven Universities Collaborate
Mentoring and Field Visits Enhance Employment Competencies

The National Pukyong University Career Plus Center (Director: Kim Cheolsoo) recently held the "Busan Transportation Corporation Job Mentoring Camp" at the Railway Human Resources and Technology Institute in Yangsan, Gyeongnam.

This program was hosted by the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office and co-organized by seven universities in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions, including National Pukyong University, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Gyeongsang National University, Kyungsung University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, and Dong-Eui University. Busan Transportation Corporation participated to provide opportunities for university students and unemployed graduates who aspire to work at public institutions.

The camp, which had a total of 92 participants, featured on-site programs such as an explanation of the Busan Transportation Corporation's recruitment system, job introductions by current employees for each job category, customized small-group mentoring, hands-on experiences in railway operation and control, a field trip to the Hopo Vehicle Depot, special lectures on National Competency Standards (NCS) preparation, and training on application documents and mock interviews.

Participants said, "It was beneficial to receive practical advice on actual work and recruitment preparation directly from current employees." They also commented that their understanding of the company and job roles had significantly increased.

The National Pukyong University Career Plus Center, as an operator of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s University Career Center Plus Project, provides a variety of programs to support career exploration and employment for university students and local youth.
