Jinan County Partners with Foundation to Support Growth of Rural Youth

Jinan County in Jeonbuk is joining forces with a specialized institution to promote balanced growth and foster future talent among rural youth.

According to Jinan County on January 7, the county signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Rural Youth Development Foundation in the governor's office that day to support the growth of local youth and achieve sustainable rural development.

The Rural Youth Development Foundation is a non-profit organization that implements a variety of capacity-building programs aimed at enhancing the welfare of rural youth and nurturing talent.

This agreement was pursued to establish a systematic support system that will help rural youth bridge educational and cultural gaps with urban areas and nurture their dreams through diverse experiential opportunities. The signing ceremony was attended by Chunseong Jeon, Governor of Jinan County, Chaemyoungsuk Chae, Secretary General of the foundation, and other key officials.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will closely cooperate in various areas, including international youth exchange and exploration activities, support for career exploration and capacity building, linkage of human and material resources, and the discovery of youth-centered rural development programs.

Based on this agreement, Jinan County plans to concretize collaborative projects within this year and launch full-scale joint initiatives starting in 2027.

In particular, the county expects to provide broader educational services to local youth by leveraging the foundation’s professional programs and nationwide network.

A Jinan County official stated, "Through cooperation with the foundation, our youth will be able to broaden their horizons and develop their abilities," adding, "We will continue to do our best to make Jinan a happy and livable place for youth and to create a sustainable rural model."
