Starting in February, the county plans to support a total of around 350 vehicles, including 150 electric passenger cars, 128 electric trucks, 2 electric buses, and 2 hydrogen electric vehicles.

Notably, the county currently boasts the highest ratio of zero-emission vehicles to population in North Gyeongsang Province and will further enhance user convenience by simultaneously supporting the installation of private charging stations.

The phase-out of old diesel vehicles will also be accelerated.

The county will allocate 750 million KRW to support the early scrapping of 461 old diesel vehicles and will also carry out projects to replace construction machinery engines and install diesel particulate filters.

In addition, 402 million KRW will be invested to support small businesses with limited financial resources, covering 60% of the costs for replacing outdated air pollution prevention facilities and installing Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring devices.

The county will also strengthen its scientific monitoring system to address complaints regarding air pollution and odors.

Using a 'mobile air pollution monitoring vehicle,' the county will continuously monitor vulnerable areas such as livestock farms and industrial complexes, actively incorporating data analysis results into environmental policies. For the approximately 360 emission-generating businesses in the area, strict guidance and inspections will be conducted to eradicate illegal activities.

The county will operate a 'carbon neutrality points system' that provides incentives based on energy savings by households and vehicle users, and will protect residents' health by inspecting indoor air quality at 15 multi-use facilities, including daycare centers and medical institutions.

A Seongju County official stated, "Through proactive air quality improvement projects, we will respond to the era of climate crisis and do our utmost to create a pleasant and clean living environment that residents can truly experience."

Details on how to apply for each project and specific requirements can be found in the announcements on the Seongju County website.
