On January 7, Gwangmyeong City announced that it plans to supply 152 public rental housing units currently under construction at 1342-5 Soha-dong in March.

This housing project is a "Job-Linked Support Housing" initiative selected through a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport competition. It aims to ease the housing burden for young people and workers, and to support their settlement in local jobs.

The "Job-Linked Support Housing" is intended for entrepreneurs (including prospective entrepreneurs), as well as workers from industrial complexes, small and medium-sized enterprises, and social economy enterprises. Priority will be given to those working at businesses located in or planning to move into Gwangmyeong City.

The housing units consist of 105 units with exclusive areas of 22 to 29 square meters, and 47 units of 44 square meters. The rental deposit and monthly rent will be set at 60 to 80 percent of the market rate, based on the standards for "Happy Housing." The proportion of the deposit can be adjusted depending on the tenant's financial situation.

The city will conduct online tenant recruitment through the Gwangmyeong Urban Corporation Subscription Center website from March 9 to 11, with move-in scheduled to coincide with the completion of construction in the second half of this year.

In addition, the city will supply 34 rental apartment units acquired during the redevelopment of Gwangmyeong Districts 1R and 4R. The available units include 27 units of 39 square meters in District 1R (Gwangmyeong Zaither Shop Forena) and 7 units of 39 square meters in District 4R (Gwangmyeong Central I-Park).

These units will be given first to residents displaced by public projects in the two districts and the surrounding area. Any remaining units will be sequentially offered to university students, young people, newlyweds, single-parent families, seniors, and recipients of housing benefits.

Online applications will be accepted through the Gwangmyeong Urban Corporation Subscription Center website from March 9 to 13. On-site applications will also be accepted for people with disabilities, seniors, and others who require assistance.

Details regarding eligibility, supply schedule, and other information can be found in the tenant recruitment announcement on the Gwangmyeong Urban Corporation Subscription Center website.
