Xiaomi Korea, the company's Korean branch, announced on the 7th that it officially launched the "Life Shot, Shot on Xiaomi" social campaign starting from the 6th. The event invites participants to upload well-taken photos using Xiaomi smartphones to a "photo sharing event" hosted on Xiaomi Korea's official Instagram announcement channel. Anyone can participate, and a random draw will be held among participants to give away select merchandise.

Previously, on the 5th, President Lee Jaemyung took a selfie with First Lady Kim Hye-kyung and President Xi Jinping and his wife using a Xiaomi smartphone after the official banquet at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. He then posted the photo on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. President Lee wrote, "The image quality is definitely clear, right?" and added, "I took a selfie with President Xi and his wife using the Xiaomi phone I received as a gift in Gyeongju. Thanks to that, I got a great shot." President Lee received this product as a gift from President Xi during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju in November last year. Ahead of this summit, it is reported that President Lee himself suggested taking a selfie with the Xiaomi phone and instructed his aides to activate the device.

Xiaomi Korea explained that the device President Lee used for the selfie was the "Xiaomi 15 Ultra," which features a camera co-developed with German optics and camera manufacturer Leica. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with a 32MP high-resolution front camera that captures even the finest details clearly, and its f/2.0 aperture supports bright and vivid selfies. It is also designed with a 90-degree wide-angle field of view (FOV), allowing multiple people to fit comfortably into one frame when taking group selfies.

Xiaomi continues to strengthen its collaboration with Leica, consistently enhancing the camera performance of its smartphones. At an event held in Beijing on December 25 last year, Xiaomi officially launched the "Xiaomi 17 Ultra" in the local market and announced a "strategic joint development model" that expands its joint research and development (R&D) framework with Leica. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the first product created based on this model. Xiaomi also emphasized its plans to integrate Leica's century-long expertise in optical technology, aesthetic philosophy, and camera manufacturing know-how into the smartphone environment to deliver an even better user experience in the future.
