Yellow Umbrella Online Enrollment Promotion to Celebrate the New Year
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on January 7, 2026, that it will launch the "Yellow Umbrella Online Enrollment Promotion" to mark the New Year.
Through this promotion, representatives of small businesses and self-employed individuals who newly enroll in the Yellow Umbrella program via the official website or mobile app by February 28, 2026, will receive a coupon worth 50,000 won.
Among the coupons, the Onnuri Gift Certificate can be used like cash at offline affiliated stores such as traditional markets and local business districts, as well as at the Onnuri Market. The Nonghyup Matseon coupon can be exchanged for a premium domestic agricultural gift set, allowing new members to choose based on their preferences.
The Yellow Umbrella program, operated by the Korea Federation of SMEs since 2007, is a public system designed to support livelihood stability and business recovery for small business owners facing management crises such as closure or old age. As of January, it has become a representative safety net for small businesses and self-employed individuals, with over 1.85 million members enrolled.
Membership in the Yellow Umbrella program offers income tax deductions (up to 6 million won per year), compounded annual interest on the principal paid, making it easier to accumulate a lump sum. In addition, the payout is legally protected from seizure, ensuring a minimum level of financial security during crises.
Lee Changho, Head of the Mutual Aid Business Division at the Korea Federation of SMEs, stated, "We hope that this New Year's promotion will encourage more small business owners and self-employed individuals to join the robust social safety net that is the Yellow Umbrella program. We will continue to strive to enhance member benefits by providing a variety of services."
