Double Win with "Scar Beauty Device"
Proving Global Competitiveness in Beauty Tech
Kolmar Korea announced on January 7 that its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered "Scar Beauty Device" won the Best Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category at CES 2026, the world's largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition. The device also received the Innovation Award in the Digital Health category, achieving a double win.
The Best Innovation Award is given only to technologies that receive the highest scores in all evaluation categories, including innovation, design, and technological prowess. Among the ten winners in the Beauty Tech category this year, it was selected as the most noteworthy technology.

This award, newly established last year, was first presented to the global tech giant Samsung Electronics. This year, Kolmar Korea, a global cosmetics ODM company, was selected as the second recipient and became the first beauty company to win the award.
The "Scar Beauty Device," which won the Best Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category, is the world's first one-stop integrated device that addresses both wound treatment and makeup coverage. Traditionally, wounds were treated with ointment and then covered with makeup, but with this device, both treatment and cosmetic coverage can be completed within ten minutes.
The core technologies are AI big data and piezo-electric micro-spray technology (Piezo-Electric Plating). When a user photographs the wound area with a smartphone application, the AI algorithm classifies the wound into twelve types and conducts a detailed analysis of its condition.
Afterward, the device precisely sprays a suitable treatment using piezo-electric micro-spray technology. Simultaneously, it combines over 180 colors to match the user's skin tone and dispenses the optimal cover makeup powder. The piezo-electric micro-spray technology, which uses electric signals to eject ink in inkjet printers, allows for precise dispensing without generating heat.
The Scar Beauty Device enables users to monitor and control the amount of treatment dispensed in real time via the smartphone screen. Its intuitive user interface (UI/UX) design makes it easy for general consumers to use, earning high praise for convenience.
Kolmar Korea plans to complete the technology launch in the first half of the year and begin full-scale customer acquisition in the second half. The company will further advance the software so that its core piezo-electric micro-spray technology can be applied to customized cosmetics production, and, in conjunction with the government-led AX (AI Transformation) research project, accelerate the development of smart factory design.
A Kolmar Korea representative stated, "Winning the Best Innovation Award is the result of research focused on user-centric experiences and practical problem-solving, rather than just the technology itself," adding, "We will continue to lead the beauty tech sector by introducing differentiated beauty tech solutions that integrate AI and digital technologies."
Meanwhile, during CES 2026, Kolmar Korea is operating a booth at the Venetian Expo Hall A-D 55050 (Lifestyle Section) in Las Vegas, USA, until January 9, where it is demonstrating its AI-based microbiome scalp diagnosis solution, 'Scalp CAIOME,' on site.
