Lee Wonmin, Producer Behind B1A4 and Oh My Girl, Launches MW Entertainment
Producer Lee Wonmin, who discovered groups such as B1A4 and Oh My Girl, has established a new agency called MW Entertainment.
On January 7, MW Entertainment officially announced its launch and the start of its business operations. Lee previously founded WM Entertainment in 2008 and nurtured popular idol groups including B1A4, Oh My Girl, and ONF.
In August of last year, Lee parted ways with RBW, the largest shareholder of WM Entertainment. He then set up the new company in the Mangwon-dong office building in Mapo-gu, Seoul, which had served as the foundation for WM Entertainment, joining forces with former colleagues and staff members who had worked closely with him.
The agency’s first signed artist is the girl group 'Yousphere.' Yousphere is the first team Lee has introduced in about ten years since Oh My Girl. Through discussions with RBW, MW Entertainment acquired Yousphere’s exclusive contract and trademark rights, and has begun album production with the goal of a comeback in the first half of this year. In addition, the company is preparing to launch a new boy group.
Lee stated, "Based on 30 years of experience and expertise, I will foster stars who will lead K-pop trends," adding, "We will introduce artists who possess musicality, talent, and character."
