Mayor Park Dongsik of Sacheon Implements Open Administration for Win-Win Cooperation with Media

Sacheon City in South Gyeongsang Province held the "2026 New Year Press Conference" at a restaurant located in Yonghyeon-myeon to mark the new year, aiming to strengthen communication and win-win cooperation with the media.

At the conference held on January 6, the city introduced last year's achievements and various activities, including the opening of the Sacheon Aerospace Campus of the National Changwon University. The city also presented explanations and visions for this year's key policies and the overall city administration.

In addition, explanations were provided regarding urgent issues that require prompt resolution, such as the passage of the Special Act on the Aerospace Complex City in the National Assembly, and the city requested active cooperation from journalists.

On this day, Mayor Park stated, "The media is the most important channel connecting citizens and administration, and a partner in shaping both the present and future of our region." He added, "I deeply appreciate the journalists who have fairly and diligently communicated the policies and key issues of Sacheon City."

He continued, "Moving forward, we will closely communicate with the media based on open and transparent administration and strive to provide city governance that earns citizens' trust. I hope this press conference serves as an opportunity for Sacheon City and the media to build greater trust and cooperation."

Mayor Park also emphasized, "The opening of the Aerospace Campus, a project our city has pursued for 30 years, is the result of a trinity: the leadership of President Park Minwon of National Changwon University, the dedication of university officials, administrative and financial support from Sacheon City, and the unwavering support of National Assembly member Seo Chunho." He added, "With the opening of the Aerospace Campus, the cluster of industry, academia, government, and research will be completed, and the human infrastructure necessary for Sacheon to become a global top 5 player in the aerospace field will be established."

He further stated, "By swiftly establishing the Aerospace Complex City, we will further solidify our status as the aerospace capital of Korea and make this the inaugural year of opening Sacheon's future. For this to happen, the enactment of the Special Act on the Aerospace Complex City is essential, and I ask for your active encouragement and interest."

Mayor Park concluded, "Due to domestic and international circumstances, public anxiety has reached unprecedented levels, and soaring prices have further increased citizens' difficulties. Nevertheless, I will do my utmost to create a more vibrant, harmonious, and warm Sacheon."
