In the field of urban regeneration, the district will begin full-scale redevelopment tailored to the characteristics of each area: Haengchon-dong and Changsin·Sungin-dong will undergo rapid integrated planning, Sinyeong-dong and Ogin-dong will be part of the New Village Leading Project, and the Gugi-dong area will be developed using the Moa Town model.
To improve the educational environment, the district will offer local middle school students special opportunities to be selected for the Seoul Science High School Gifted Education Center. Specialized programs such as one-on-one mentoring and math and science camps will also be provided. In order to utilize Jongno's unique educational assets and strengthen the foundation for residency, the district will collaborate with Sungkyunkwan University to operate talent development programs, and will plan various joint projects across all areas of district administration, including education, culture, and welfare.
In the welfare sector, the district will establish the "Jongno-type Integrated Care One-Stop System," which combines the Health-Irang Service and the Seoul Health Longevity Center. The plan is to respond to various care needs with integrated health, medical, and welfare services. Near Tapgol Park, which was designated as the first alcohol-free zone, the "Tapgol Senior Citizens' Cultural Playground" will be created, and the "Jongno Good Life Challenge," a program to help seniors make friends, will continue to be promoted.
From January 23 to February 11, the district will hold New Year's meetings in all 17 neighborhoods, touring each area. Mayor Jung Moonhun will meet with residents in each neighborhood to discuss local issues and development directions, and will explain this year's district administration policies and major projects.
Mayor Jung Moonhun stated, "By maintaining the continuity of Jongno Modern, we will create a Jongno of coexistence and mutual prosperity, and a more vibrant, living city."
