Hyeongju Ahn, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member.
Hyeongju Ahn, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council from the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Sangmu 2-dong, Seochang-dong, and Kumho 1·2-dong), recently received a certificate of appreciation for his contributions to the implementation of the "2025 Autonomous Police Close to Citizens" initiative.
Assemblyman Ahn has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of and special interest in police work, actively cooperating to realize a citizen-centered autonomous police system.
In particular, his multifaceted policy proposals and field communication activities-such as enacting an ordinance to establish dedicated patrol car parking spaces in cooperation with the police-have been credited with enhancing the sense of safety among Seo-gu residents and significantly strengthening public security services tailored to the characteristics of the region.
Ahn stated, "I have always emphasized the importance of autonomous police who protect safety where it matters most-in the daily lives of Seo-gu residents," adding, "I will continue to prioritize legislative activities that strengthen local public security capabilities and ensure the safety of our community members."
