Knocking on the Door of the National Budget First... Bonghwa County Prepares for 2027

All Departments Shift to 'Future Planning Mode'
Proactive National and Provincial Funding Strategy Linking Population Decline and Carbon Neutrality

Bonghwa County has significantly accelerated its budget response timeline to secure national and provincial funding for 2027, officially embarking on a comprehensive 'future financial planning' initiative.

This is a strategic decision to proactively respond to the government's budget allocation process and ensure that the region's core growth projects are included in the national budget.

On January 5, Bonghwa County announced that it had distributed guidelines on '2027 National Investment Budget Projects and New Public Contest Project Discovery' to all departments and launched an organization-wide response system to secure national funding. The focus is not just on requesting funds, but on precisely aligning the county's vision with national policies.

The scope of this initiative covers all national and provincial investment projects for 2027 (both new and ongoing), as well as public contest projects led by central government ministries. Each department is required to identify at least two new projects, while maintaining continuity for existing initiatives. The county is concentrating its administrative resources on discovering 'strategic new projects' that can fundamentally transform Bonghwa's industrial structure and living conditions.

In particular, the county aims to strengthen its logic and competitiveness for securing national funding by closely linking its projects to key national priorities such as addressing population decline, fostering region-specific industries, and achieving carbon neutrality. By reflecting central government policy directions in advance, Bonghwa County intends to gain a competitive edge from the early stages of public contests.

Park Hyunkook, Governor of Bonghwa County, emphasized, "Securing national funding is more important than ever to enhance the region's self-sufficiency amid the structural crisis of local extinction. All departments will work together and mobilize our full administrative capacity to ensure that essential projects for Bonghwa County are ultimately reflected in the government budget."

Meanwhile, projects identified by each department will be compiled by the budget department by January 16. After feasibility reviews and expert consultations, these projects will be sequentially proposed to central ministries and North Gyeongsang Province.

Bonghwa County expects that this proactive budget response will serve as a turning point for mid- to long-term fiscal stability and enhanced regional competitiveness.
