"70 Years of Spreading the Gospel, and Forever"
Vision to Support 70 Under-Resourced Churches
Pure Gospel broadcaster Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) has declared a new leap forward in its gospel ministry as it celebrates its 70th anniversary.
On January 5, FEBC held a '70th Anniversary Ministry Launch Ceremony' at the Daejeon ICC Hotel, reflecting on its 70-year journey of broadcast evangelism and officially announcing its vision for future ministry.
More than 300 people attended the event, including pastors from across the country, board members, and staff.
During the first part of the ceremony, FEBC Foundation Board Director Cho Bonghee delivered a sermon, emphasizing, "The strength of FEBC lies in unity," and stressing, "We must continue to serve the times as a broadcaster dedicated solely to the gospel."
In the second part of the ceremony, a key initiative commemorating the 70th anniversary was officially announced: a project to support 70 under-resourced churches nationwide.
In addition to financial support, FEBC plans to help restore churches through a sustainable support model that includes public broadcasts and the production of listener-participation content, using broadcasting as a medium.
The 70th anniversary slogan, "70 Years of Spreading the Gospel, and Forever!" was unveiled, along with the theme scripture, "Behold! I am doing a new thing!"
FEBC Chairman Kim Janghwan stated, "This is a commitment to share the grace we have received over the past 70 years with the Korean church," adding, "All 13 FEBC stations nationwide will work together to ignite the spark of church revival."
FEBC President Maeng Juwan said, "The vision for gospel broadcasting began amidst the scars of the Korean War in 1956, and the opening of Asia Broadcasting in 1973 paved the way for missionary broadcasting in Northeast Asia. We will continue to uphold our identity as a missionary broadcaster dedicated solely to the gospel."
Meanwhile, FEBC executives and staff pledged in a declaration to focus solely on spreading the gospel, partnering with the Korean church, passing on faith to the next generation, and fulfilling the mission of broadcast evangelism to North Korea and the world.
