The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) held a ceremony on January 6 in the main conference room of the Mungyeong Office of Education to announce the conversion of Mungyeong Technical High School into an AI Robot Meister High School, marking the official start of efforts to foster core technical talent that will lead the future robotics industry.

This ceremony was organized as Mungyeong Technical High School is transitioning from an existing specialized technical high school to the 'AI Robot Talent Tum Meister High School.' The event aimed to officially declare the school's commitment to this transformation and to share its future vision with school members, the local community, and the industry.

Mungyeong Technical High School Announces Transition to AI Robot Meister High School... Opening in March 2028 with 180 Students Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, is delivering a commemorative speech at the ceremony for the promotion of converting Mungyeong Technical High School into an AI Robot Meister High School.

More than 50 people attended the event, including Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education; Park Chae-ah, Chair of the Education Committee of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council; Shin Hyun-guk, Mayor of Mungyeong; Lee Jeong-geol, Chair of the Mungyeong City Council; as well as representatives from the school management committee, parent association, alumni association, related organizations, and companies, to celebrate the new leap forward for Mungyeong Technical High School.

Mungyeong Technical High School is planning to open as an AI Robot Meister High School in March 2028, focusing on a specialized AI robotics curriculum with four classes per grade and a total of 12 classes (180 students). In particular, the school aims to nurture practical robot technology professionals who can be immediately deployed to industrial sites after graduation, through an industry-demand-tailored curriculum that covers the entire process of physical AI-based robot design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance.

Additionally, the school is building cooperative systems with related organizations such as the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement and the Korea Institute of Robot and Convergence, and is forming industry-academia cooperation networks with over 50 robotics companies, including Neuromeka, Doosan Robotics, and Hanwha Robotics. By establishing a foundation for the phased implementation of specialized robotics education programs, the school expects to achieve substantial employment outcomes for its graduates.

Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "The conversion of Mungyeong Technical High School into an AI Robot Meister High School is a strategic decision by the Gyeongbuk Office of Education to foster talent for future industries." He emphasized, "As the robotics industry is rapidly expanding into all sectors, including manufacturing, medical, and logistics services, nurturing specialized technical talent to lead this field is more important than ever."

Superintendent Lim added, "The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will support the stable transition to a Meister High School through facility and equipment modernization, recruitment of excellent teachers, and operation of customized curricula. We will continue our efforts to help Mungyeong Technical High School grow into a leading hub for AI robotics talent in Korea, based on cooperation with the local community, businesses, and related organizations."
