The Communication Forum, held that morning on the 2nd floor of the Yangpyeong-eup Office, was attended by Yang Jinseon, Governor of Yangpyeong County, Kim Moonhee, Yangpyeong-eup Chief, heads of relevant departments, local institution and organization leaders, and about 100 Yangpyeong-eup residents. Participants reviewed last year's key achievements in Yangpyeong-eup and shared the 2026 county administration direction as well as development plans for Yangpyeong-eup. In addition, a session was held to exchange opinions on local issues and suggestions.
Governor Yang Jinseon first shared last year's major accomplishments in Yangpyeong-eup with residents, including: the completion of the Namhangang Terrace; the creation of the Yangpyeong Pure Water Market Light Street; the initiative to designate the Yanggang Island Stone Mound Tomb as a Gyeonggi-do cultural heritage site; the completion of the Yangpyeong Sports Center; and the signing of childbirth medical agreements with Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital and Kimran Miz Women's Clinic.
He then presented the main plans for Yangpyeong-eup in 2026, such as: revitalizing the Yangpyeong Market commercial district through an economy-first strategy; developing tourism resources by linking the Namhangang Terrace with Mul-an-gae Park, Galsan Park, and others; establishing a master plan for tourism development connecting Yanggeuncheon, Sijapark, and Baegunbong; and expanding the regional road network, including the widening of Yanggeun Bridge, outlining the county's mid- to long-term development direction.
During the dialogue session with residents, practical suggestions were raised, including: community-led road expansion and sidewalk installation; support for construction in sections missing sewage pipelines; creation of walking trails; and installation of speed enforcement cameras. Heads of bureaus and department managers in attendance responded directly on-site, continuing active communication.
Governor Yang Jinseon stated, "It was very meaningful to hear the voices from the field through today's Communication Forum with Yangpyeong-eup residents," adding, "We will actively incorporate each and every resident's valuable opinion into county administration so that Yangpyeong-eup, the heart of Yangpyeong, can develop into an even better place to live."
