Busan Urban Corporation Wins Grand Prize at Korea Public ESG Management Awards

Grand Prize in K-ESG Implementation Evaluation
Recognized for Leading ESG Performance Among Public Institutions

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) received the Grand Prize in the K-ESG Implementation Evaluation category at the 3rd Korea Public ESG Management Awards ceremony, hosted by the Korea Public ESG Research Institute on December 30.

The Korea Public ESG Management Awards are presented to organizations after a comprehensive evaluation of ESG management levels among over 300 institutions, including public enterprises, quasi-governmental organizations, local public corporations, and other public institutions, based on the K-ESG guidelines of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The evaluation was conducted based on 66 detailed criteria, including public institution governance, government policy implementation, management evaluation, and external assessment indicators. Among these, 18 outstanding institutions that have led ESG management were selected.

Busan Urban Corporation has regularly published sustainability reports and strengthened transparent information disclosure to practice sustainable ESG management. In addition, the company has established an ESG council and promoted joint activities to spread ESG values throughout the local community. It has also actively participated in UNGC (United Nations Global Compact) activities to enhance its social responsibility and external credibility as a public institution.

Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "I believe our efforts under the core ESG goals of achieving carbon neutrality, creating eco-friendly cities, practicing citizen-centered social responsibility management, and strengthening a transparent and fair management system have led to this award."
