This history book focuses on examining the background of the hospital’s founding, key stages of growth, and the challenges and achievements experienced in a rapidly changing healthcare environment. It highlights the choices and strategies that have driven Bumin Hospital Group’s development and explores the direction the group aims to pursue in the future.

The publication consists of two volumes: the main book and a themed photo collection. It is divided into three sections: Growth History, Sector History, and Appendix. The Growth History section details the hospital’s development from the founding of Busan Bumin Hospital to the expansion into Gupo, Seoul, and Haeundae Bumin Hospitals, as well as the vision for the soon-to-open Myeongji Bumin Hospital. It is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the hospital’s journey in growing alongside the local community and expanding its medical infrastructure.

The Sector History section covers the history of the Indang Medical Foundation, which operates the hospital group, the founding of the Bumin Institute for Future Medicine, pioneering cases in preventive medicine, and social contribution activities. Through this, it showcases how the hospital has expanded its role beyond patient care to include research, preventive medicine, and public service as a comprehensive medical institution.

Throughout the history book, the consistent philosophy of “patient-centered care” is woven together with the identity of the hospital, which has been shaped by its medical staff, employees, and the local community. Beyond a simple chronological record, the book captures the dilemmas and decisions the hospital faced amid changing healthcare environments at different times.

Jung Heungtae, Chairman of Indang Medical Foundation, stated, “The 40-year history of Bumin Hospital is not only a record of our journey so far, but also a reflection on what kind of medical institution we aspire to become. I hope this will serve as a starting point for preparing for the era of smart healthcare in the future.”

Bumin Hospital Group has enhanced the efficiency and accuracy of the entire treatment process by building AI-based diagnostic solutions, voice-recognition electronic medical records, and data-driven systems for real-time patient status analysis, with a focus on preventive medicine and precision screening. This has enabled the group to create a patient-tailored medical environment, strengthening both the quality and accessibility of healthcare through smart healthcare solutions.

Currently, Bumin Hospital Group operates four hospitals in Busan and Seoul. In Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, the group is expanding its preventive medicine services through the premium health screening center “BPLC in Magok (Bumin Prestige Life Care Center).” In addition, construction is underway for the 500-bed Myeongji Bumin Hospital in Gangseo-gu, Busan, with the goal of opening in 2028. By securing the operating rights for Green International Hospital in Jeju Healthcare Town, Seogwipo, Jeju, the group is also working to establish a nationwide medical network connecting Busan, Seoul, and Jeju.

The 40th anniversary history book of Bumin Hospital Group will be distributed to major universities and public libraries across Korea, serving as a resource that offers insight into a segment of Korean medical history. It will also be released in e-book format through the Bumin Hospital website.
