This award aims to discover and encourage public officials who have contributed to improving the local traffic environment and administrative innovation. Officer Kim became the first person from Uijeongbu City to be named a "Local Administration Master."
Officer Kim has achieved remarkable results in the field of traffic through proactive and creative administration. In particular, he implemented the "red pedestrian signal remaining time indicator (four-section signal light)" for the first time in the nation and pursued a patent for the invention of a "stop safety system" to prevent buses from skipping stops, thereby realizing citizen-centered traffic administration.
These efforts have been recognized as significantly contributing not only to the prevention of traffic accidents and enhancement of pedestrian safety, but also to improving the convenience of daily life for citizens.
Officer Kim stated, "It is an honor to receive such a prestigious award as a master, and I am grateful to the citizens of Uijeongbu and my colleagues for their trust and support. I will continue to do my best to implement traffic policies that citizens can truly experience."
Meanwhile, Officer Kim's case will be published in the book "2025 Introduction to Master Studies," which will be archived at the National Museum of Korea and made available for viewing at local libraries.
