[Invest&Law] Bae, Kim & Lee Strengthens Defense Sector Capabilities with Appointment of Former DAPA Commissioner Kang Eunho

Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (Managing Partner Kim Sanggon) announced on January 7 that it has appointed former Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) Commissioner Kang Eunho as an advisor to strengthen its legal support capabilities for the "K-Defense" sector.

Advisor Kang began his public service career after passing the 33rd Administrative Examination, serving in key defense-related government agencies such as the Military Manpower Administration, the Ministry of National Defense, and DAPA. Notably, he worked at DAPA from its establishment in 2006, holding major positions including Director of the Guided Weapons Program Department, Director of Planning and Coordination, and Deputy Head of the Program Management Headquarters. He has overseen work related to national defense research and development (R&D) policy, defense capability improvement projects, and defense industry promotion policies. In 2020, he became the first internal DAPA official to be appointed as Commissioner, a position he held until his retirement in 2022.

Advisor Kang will serve as a part-time advisor on Bae, Kim & Lee’s defense industry team, providing counsel on increasing defense exports, fostering collaboration between large and small-to-medium-sized enterprises, and developing strategies for building a robust defense industry ecosystem. The defense industry team is comprised of team leader Attorney Kim Hyukjoong, Attorneys Lee Jongseok and Son Kwangik, and Senior Advisor Song Wanggeun, a former Navy Colonel.
