Convenience Store Product Featuring Single-Pack Samlip Steamed Bun
Sales at Convenience Stores Rise 53% Year-on-Year
SPC Samlip announced on January 6 that sales of its 'single-pack steamed bun' have surpassed 2 million units within 50 days of its launch.
The 'single-pack steamed bun' is a product that offers Samlip's traditionally bundled steamed buns as individual servings, now available at convenience stores. The product lineup includes four varieties: three long-loved flavors (sweet red bean, vegetable, and pizza) and a kimchi-mandu steamed bun inspired by the 'K-Food' concept, capturing the taste of Korean cuisine as a meal option.
This achievement is attributed to the effective strategy of small packaging and ready-to-eat meals, which reflect the rapidly growing single-person household lifestyle. In particular, SPC Samlip applied its patented 'Hojjimpak' technology, allowing the buns to retain a freshly steamed and moist texture even when heated immediately after purchase at convenience stores, which has resonated with consumers. Positive feedback from consumers includes comments such as, "It's great because I don't have to worry about leftovers since it's single-packaged," and "It's perfect for a light meal on the way home from work."
An SPC Samlip representative stated, "This season, sales of single-pack Samlip steamed buns through convenience store channels have increased by about 53% compared to the same period last year," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our position as a beloved winter snack by innovating products that reflect consumer trends."
