Prompt and Accurate Information Delivery During Disasters
Gijang County in Busan (County Governor Jung Jongbok) has installed a large disaster message electronic display board in the area of Gyori Samgeori, Gijang-eup, to provide residents with prompt and accurate information in the event of various disasters such as typhoons, heavy rainfall, and wildfires. The board officially began operation on January 5.

The newly installed large disaster message electronic display board is a double-sided board measuring 11 meters in height, 6 meters in width, and 4 meters in length. The project was funded with a total budget of 400 million won, including a special disaster safety grant of 300 million won and 100 million won from the county budget.
The display board broadcasts county news, weather information, and disaster-specific safety instructions in both video and text during normal times. When a weather advisory is issued, it provides real-time updates on the advisory, as well as alerts and evacuation instructions, enabling residents to respond quickly to disaster situations.
Currently, there are a total of 27 disaster message electronic display boards installed throughout Gijang County, including two large boards. Going forward, the county plans to gradually upgrade existing boards by utilizing various visual tools such as videos and images to enhance the effectiveness of information delivery.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang County, stated, "In disaster situations, the most important thing is the prompt and accurate delivery of information to protect the lives and safety of our residents," and added, "Please ensure thorough management and operation so that the necessary information can be provided in a timely manner through the disaster message electronic display boards."
