On January 5, the Muan County Council in South Jeolla Province held a final report meeting in the council’s seminar room to share the key outcomes of research projects conducted by the council members’ research groups.
This meeting was organized to review the results of policy research pursued by the 9th Council in its latter half and to reflect these findings in future county administration and council activities. The event was attended by Council Chair Lee Hosung, members of the research groups, researchers who carried out the projects, and relevant public officials, who listened to the final reports and participated in a Q&A session.
The Energy Transition Era Preparation Research Group, led by Assemblyman Kim Wonjung, proposed the introduction of the “Muan-type Hybrid Basic Income Model,” which would return profits generated from renewable energy to all county residents, as well as a “Community Fund Model” designed to ensure financial stability and transparency. The group emphasized the need for policy design that can secure both profitability and social equity.
Next, the Healing Agriculture Policy Development Research Group, led by Assemblyman Lim Yuntaek, presented a Muan County-specific healing agriculture model focused on specialization and customized programs for different target groups, such as the “Golden Age Program for Women in Their 50s and 60s” and the regional “Healing Tour,” based on research into the roadmap for revitalizing healing agriculture in Muan County.
Concluding the meeting, Council Chair Lee Hosung stated, “This final report meeting marks an important starting point for preparing for Muan County’s future. As energy transition and healing agriculture are core issues directly linked to the lives of our residents, we will actively incorporate these research outcomes into county administration and council activities to achieve sustainable development and enhance the happiness of our residents.”
The council plans to take follow-up measures, including enacting relevant ordinances, making policy proposals, and reflecting the results in the budget, based on the findings of these research projects.
