A total of 15 projects with 1.4 billion won in funding
Applications open until the 14th
Jindo County in South Jeolla Province is launching the second round of recruitment for participants in its 2026 marine and fisheries projects, aiming to stabilize fishermen's incomes and enhance the competitiveness of the fisheries industry.
According to the county, this second round targets a total of 15 projects, including five funded by the national government, three by the provincial government, and seven by the county, with a total project budget of 1.4 billion won. The initiative focuses on alleviating the management burden faced by fishermen and establishing a sustainable foundation for the fisheries sector.
Key support programs include: ▲ the Conservation and Utilization of National Important Fisheries Heritage Project ▲ support for rental fees for eco-friendly energy supply facilities ▲ outboard motor support for small-scale fishermen ▲ assistance for responding to abnormal sea temperatures, among others. These measures provide practical support to address climate change and shifts in the fishing environment.
Applications for the projects are open until the 14th, and detailed information on each project and eligibility requirements can be found in the notices section of the Jindo County Office website.
Eligible applicants are fishermen or related organizations registered in Jindo County, provided they do not have any disqualifying factors such as local tax arrears, as specified by each project. Submitted applications will undergo document screening and on-site verification, with final selections to be made fairly by the Jindo County Fisheries Coordination Committee.
Fishermen and organizations wishing to participate should visit their respective township or town offices, or the Fisheries Support Division at Jindo County Office, to submit their application forms and related documents.
A county official stated, "The fisheries industry is a core sector of Jindo's local economy," and added, "We will proactively respond to the climate crisis and changes in the fishing environment to stabilize fishermen's incomes and ensure the sustainability of the fisheries industry."
