Narae Park Cancels 'Like' on Sook Kim's Post
Amid Controversy Over Social Media Activity During Self-Reflection
Broadcaster Narae Park, who had suspended her activities due to various controversies, including allegations of power abuse against her manager, has withdrawn her 'like' from a social media post by fellow broadcaster Sook Kim. This action is interpreted as a response to public criticism that social media activity is inappropriate during her period of self-reflection.
Previously, on December 29, Sook Kim posted on social media after winning the Best Female Entertainer Award at the '2025 MBC Entertainment Awards', saying, "It has been a busy year. I am grateful to those who supported me behind the scenes." The post received congratulatory comments from various celebrities, and Narae Park’s account also pressed 'like'. Although she did not leave a direct comment, it appeared she quietly expressed her congratulations.
Some online users criticized Narae Park for engaging in social media activity despite being in a period of self-reflection. They argued that any online response was careless, given that investigations and legal disputes were ongoing due to various allegations. Some users raised their voices, saying, "Is now the time to be active on social media when the entertainment industry is embroiled in controversy?" and "Her self-reflection does not seem sincere."
As the controversy grew, Narae Park withdrew her 'like' from the post. Some interpreted this move as a choice to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on Sook Kim out of consideration for public opinion.
Previously, in December of last year, Narae Park was sued by her former managers on allegations of workplace bullying and verbal abuse, aggravated assault, running errands for illegal prescriptions, and unsettled expenses. In response, Narae Park filed a countersuit against them for attempted extortion and embezzlement, resulting in ongoing legal battles.
The controversy further intensified after allegations emerged that she had received illegal medical procedures from a so-called 'Injection Auntie'. After these allegations surfaced, Narae Park announced, "I will suspend all broadcasting activities until all issues are clearly resolved," declaring a period of self-reflection. However, further claims related to her private life have continued to surface, keeping the debate ongoing.
