This training program was organized to strengthen teachers' lesson planning and instructional skills, focusing on newly introduced elective subjects under the 2022 revised curriculum, and to support the operation of an elective-centered curriculum that reflects students' career and academic needs.
The training covers three subjects: Mathematics and Culture, Convergence Science Inquiry, and Ethics Issue Inquiry. Each subject features both theoretical lectures and practice-oriented training led by subject matter experts. In particular, the Convergence Science Inquiry area will address practical content that can be immediately applied in schools, such as the use of digital inquiry tools, data collection and visualization, and lesson planning utilizing artificial intelligence and edtech.
The training is intended for high school teachers who hold teaching qualifications for the respective subjects. Priority will be given to teachers from schools planning to offer these subjects in the 2026 academic year, with approximately 20 participants per subject. The training will be conducted in-person.
Kim Seongrae, Director of Secondary Education, stated, "The purpose of this training is to enhance teachers' expertise in teaching elective subjects within the high school credit system environment and to support the stable implementation of the 2022 revised curriculum." He added, "We will continue to expand practical training programs that teachers can truly benefit from in the school setting."
