Where Is the Busan Port Cruise Terminal? ... 'North Port' and 'Yeongdo' Names to Eliminate Confusion

Busan Port Authority Renames Two Cruise Terminals at Busan Port
Existing Busan Port 'International Passenger Terminal' Remains Unchanged

Wasn't the 'Cruise Terminal' here at Busan Port?

The names of the two Busan Port North Port cruise terminals, which had caused confusion, have been reorganized. The names 'North Port' and 'Yeongdo' have now been added in front of each terminal's name, reducing confusion for users. The existing International Passenger Terminal will remain unchanged.

On January 5, Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced that, to improve convenience for cruise passengers, the names of Busan Port's cruise terminals have been reorganized based on their geographical locations, effective from January 1, 2026.

Busan Port had been operating cruise terminals separately at North Port and Yeongdo. In the past, confusing names such as 'Busan Port International Cruise Terminal' and 'Busan Port International Passenger Terminal 2' were used, making it difficult for tourists and transport workers to distinguish between the locations. In particular, there were cases where cruise passengers, after sightseeing downtown and taking a taxi back, ended up at the wrong terminal instead of the one where their ship was actually docked.

To reduce this confusion, Busan Port Authority has incorporated the area names into the terminal names. The former 'Busan Port International Passenger Terminal 2' in Choryang-dong, Dong-gu, has been renamed 'Busan North Port Cruise Terminal.' The 'Busan Port International Cruise Terminal' in Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo-gu, has been changed to 'Busan Yeongdo Cruise Terminal.'

To minimize confusion, the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal on Chungjang-daero, Dong-gu, which is used by Japanese route ferries and passenger ships, will retain its existing name.

With this renaming, not only cruise passengers but also taxi and bus drivers, travel agencies, and shipping company staff will be able to clearly identify their destinations using just the names 'North Port' and 'Yeongdo.' The authority expects that standardizing the names in tourism brochures, maps, signage, and online searches will improve information delivery and enhance city promotion as well.

Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "By reorganizing the terminal names based on their actual locations, we have reduced confusion for cruise tourists and improved communication efficiency. We will continue to enhance the quality of Busan Port's cruise services by addressing inconveniences from the users' perspective."
