Daegu Jungang Cheonggwa and Hyosung Cheonggwa Donate 200 Million Won to Help Neighbors at Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market

Daegu Jungang Cheonggwa Co., Ltd. (represented by Lee Yongwoo and Lee Sangyun) and Hyosung Cheonggwa Co., Ltd. (represented by Kim Hyungsu), both corporations of the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market, delivered a total of 200 million won (100 million won each) in Hope Sharing donations through the Daegu Community Chest of Korea at the reception room of the Dongin Building at Daegu City Hall on January 5.

The donation ceremony was attended by Kim Jeonggi, Acting Mayor of Daegu, Kim Taehyung, Executive Director of Daegu Jungang Cheonggwa, Kim Hyungsu, CEO of Hyosung Cheonggwa, Shin Hongsik, Chairman of the Daegu Community Chest of Korea, Kim Sangdeok, President of the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Distribution Corporation, and other key officials.

This donation is particularly significant as it is more than three times larger than last year’s amount, deepening the spirit of giving for the local community despite the economic downturn.

Daegu Jungang Cheonggwa conducts a variety of social contribution activities every year, including monetary donations, sharing of agricultural products, and providing coal briquettes. The company systematically manages records of its donations and social contribution activities, maintaining transparent management in its philanthropic efforts.

Hyosung Cheonggwa has continued its social contribution activities beyond one-time donations. Last Chuseok, the company donated fruit to local seniors, provided massage chairs worth about 60 million won (over 20 units) to local farms, and supported kimchi-making events, among other community initiatives.

Lee Sangyun, CEO of Daegu Jungang Cheonggwa, and Kim Hyungsu, CEO of Hyosung Cheonggwa, stated, "We hope this will provide some comfort to our neighbors enduring the cold winter," and added, "We will continue to go beyond simple agricultural distribution and fulfill our role as a warm-hearted partner for mutual prosperity."

Kim Sangdeok, President of the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Distribution Corporation, said, "We will continue to work on improving the distribution environment and strengthening competitiveness at the Daegu Agricultural and Fishery Wholesale Market," and added, "We will also do our best to create an environment that encourages distribution workers to participate in charitable giving."
