This presentation ceremony was organized to encourage active participation from citizens during the intensive fundraising period for the 2026 Red Cross membership fees, which runs from December 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. By donating the special membership fee, Goyang Special City aims to spread the value of solidarity through sharing within the local community.

Since 2000, the city has participated in various activities of the Korean Red Cross, including delivering a special membership fee every year. Last year, in recognition of these contributions, the city was listed on the 'Honorary Red Cross Membership Merit Roll,' which is awarded to individuals and organizations that have contributed to fundraising for the Red Cross and humanitarian social activities by donating a cumulative amount of over 100 million won.

Mayor Lee Donghwan, who delivered the special membership fee, said, "I would like to thank the Korean Red Cross for its dedication to the community through disaster and emergency relief efforts, various social service activities, and medical projects. I hope that more citizens will participate in the 2026 Red Cross membership fundraising campaign, so that the value of sharing will spread and our society will become warmer, filled with hope and compassion."

The special membership fee delivered will be used for a variety of humanitarian activities by the Red Cross, including emergency disaster relief, support for vulnerable groups, and blood donation projects.
